Wellbuilt's "Mitch Kidd" was quoted in the New York Observer September 30th alongside "Samantha Knapp" of Tiger Lilly's Greenwich . The author, Rebecca Morse, whose assignment it was to capture the value pre-war architectural detail in "Brand new" New York apartment buildings interviewed the pair for this story.
It’s with great pride and excitement Wellbuilt extends a huge congratulations to co-founder Mitch Kidd on his recent graduation from Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business program.
Offered to small business owners who demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities in their communities, the $500 million Goldman initiative provides entrepreneurs with education, financing and business support to help them to create jobs and economic opportunities across the country.
The 20-week program is hosted locally by LaGuardia Community College and combines a tremendously rigorous MBA-style curriculum with management education and mentoring from Goldman executives. Topics covered include accounting, marketing, negotiation and leadership skills. Warren Buffett, Harvard Business School professor Michael Porter and staff from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania chair the program's advisory council.
Small businesses generated 64% of net new jobs over the past 15 years. Since its inception two years ago, GS10K Small Business grads have seen their companies contribute millions to the economy in revenues and added thousands of jobs across the country.
The program is demanding and competitive -- over 400 people applied for spots last year. To read more about GS10K or to apply for a spot in next year's New York cohort, click here..
Congrats to Mitch on his incredibly dedication and accomplishments throughout the program!
We recently attended the launch of Developer Jonathon Carroll's Soho Penthouse, which has just been placed on the market with Kane Manera of Douglas Elliman Luxury lofts. The space was impeccably renovated by Australian-born architect Sally Rigg and was obviously designed for someone who loves to entertain and throw lavish parties. There is an abundance of windows and natural light flooding through. This Cool New York Luxury loft just might be one of the best seats to experience the 4th of July fireworks on The Hudson River. In 2012 Wellbuilt Company had the honor of participating on a renovation project in Wilton, Connecticut for Town & Country Editor-In-Chief, Jay Fielden. The beautiful, midcentury home was almost lost completely in 2010 when an electrical fire destroyed almost everything inside. Fortunately, Jay, his wife Yvonne and their three children escaped unharmed. Perhaps not ironically, most of Jay's collection of architecture books survived the fire but if you look closely you can still see the smoky silhouettes on them.
Wellbuilt's role was part of a larger collaboration with a number of brilliant designers and builder, but our primary focus consisted of the manufacture and installation of a custom master walk-in closet, designed by Melanie Charlton at Clos-ette llc.

It was a pleasure to work on this Kitchen/ Dining room makeover with interior design writer Erin Gates. By bringing down the partition wall between two rooms, we created a much larger, elegant entertaining space that feels inviting to friends, guests and family. Some delicious meals will be cooked in this kitchen, no doubt! For more details & photos of before and after go to Erin's blog, Elements of Style.
