In 2011 Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club will showcase its 39th Annual Decorator Show House. The high-profile renovation project has been taking place in an Upper East Side mansion, 163 East 63rd Street. The doors open to the public from April 28 – May 26, 2011. The striking, neo-Federalist style residence was once owned by John Hay “Jock” Whitney and boasts unique historic details acquired during his travels abroad. Each of the 16 rooms in this four-story, 10,000-square-foot mansion will delight design enthusiasts and anyone looking for decorating inspiration. This year, Wellbuilt has been proud to support designer Celerie Kemble in her task of remodelling the library room. The show house is the primary fundraiser for the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. Historically the annual event raises over one million dollars to help sponsor essential after-school and enrichment programs for more than 13,000 young people at ten locations in the Bronx. So not only are you getting to see the work of influential designers, you are supporting a worthy cause.
